Germania members come from all walks of life. Our society’s stated mission is the cultivation of German culture, hospitality and song. We also count among our most supportive members Americans with other ethnic backgrounds.
Germania hosts public and private events. Some events like our Red, White & Brats (during Red, White & Boom), or our Oktoberfest are designed to familiarize the community with our organization. Dinner dances are held monthly to entertain the membership, and to provide an opportunity for social interaction where you can spend an enjoyable evening among friends.
Germania has two membership levels – Student and Active. All Active Members are voting members of the society. Active members can participate regularly in such activities as the Männerchor (men’s chorus), the Damenchor (women’s chorus), the Volkstänzer (folk dancers), the Shooting Club, the Bicycle Club or the Ladies Auxiliary. Members are also encouraged to develop new special interest groups.
All of our members are encouraged to participate in the management and support of the society to the extent they are able and available. This investment in the time readily brings an expanded circle of friends.
To become a member, all you have to do is complete an application and submit it with your first year’s dues to a member of the society. You can download a copy of the Germania Membership Application here.
